  • Worked at Princess Marina Hospital and several remote public sector clinics providing both intensive outpatient and inpatient dermatologic care 

  • Provided weekly formal lectures for attending and resident physicians at remote rural clinics regarding the recognition and management of dermatologic disease

  • Mentored and provided daily informal didactics for pediatric and internal medicine residents as well as medical students rotating through dermatology

  • Maintained meticulous records of patients treated in both the outpatient and inpatient setting as well as their associated imaging, laboratory and pathology results

  • Served as a liaison between the local dermatopathology department and consulting University of Pennsylvania dermatopathologist, Dr. Carrie Kovarik

  • Worked on the inpatient medical service and assisted house staff in performing bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

  • Provided educational didactics to junior medical students of Komfo Anoyke Teaching Hosptial

  • Assisted medical staff with various clinical examinations and surgical procedures

  • Administered vaccinations and distributed medications in rural villages at outreach clinics

  • Conducted public health educational seminars for local villagers regarding diarrheal rehydration, malarial prevention techniques, safe sexual practices, HIV/AIDS, and nutrition

  • Aided nurses in the HIV, respiratory, and burn units of several township clinics

  • Organized daily educational activities to teach mothers and children about HIV treatment and prevention

  • Served as a weekend camp counselor at HIV camps designed to combat the stigmas of poverty and disease

January 2010

  • Provided primary medical and dental care to over 1,500 people through the establishment of temporary clinics and pharmacies in Honduras

  • Educated Hondurans on sustainable health practices
